The Surayya Anne Thrift Store opened its doors in March 2018 with the aim to support Surayya Anne Foundation’s OKC mission by becoming a steady source of funds to serve the maximum number of clients that walk through their door. This initiative still in it’s early growth stages, will apply all sales revenue after covering the facility’s overhead expenses toward helping the foundation’s clients.
The store has a steady stream of generous donors. Most of the donations are made up of gently used clothing, shoes, toys, books, household items and furniture. For any donation, a tax write-off receipt can also be provided with the estimated monetary value to be filled by the donor themselves.
The facility is methodically divided into men, women and kids sections with separate shelving for household items and decorations. It’s also the only store in the area selling beautiful ethnic clothing from Arab and South Asian origins. The store is clean, clutter free and full of bargains. Eligible Surayya Anne Foundation clients can receive gift cards from the office which they can use toward purchasing items they need at the store.
Besides already low prices, specials are going on at the store for further reduction based on days, styles or flat discounts. Items are also regularly moved to the $1 rack and the variety is always changing.
